Cochlear Ear Drum drill

The drill is being developed to drill through very thin hard tissue where you don’t want to do a full break through were the other side would become contaminated (Hearing Parts). It is also used in situations where you have a mix of layers, and you need to know where you are.

It measures Force and Torque as it drills, it has its own feed so that all the parameters are monitored in real time, it looks at previous data and knows when it is going to break through, stops and gets out. Smallest hole is 0.8mm.
